On Friday night a fire broke out in one of the buildings of the Nitra Yeshiva in Mount Kisco, NY. The building was reportedly used as classrooms and is not the main dormitory building. All the boys and staff were able to evacuate the building safely before the fire department arrived.
Getting water to the scene of the fire was complicated and time-consuming since the Yeshiva is not located near any water source, forcing the firefighters to use water tankers to shuttle water from the nearest source.
The Firefighters battled the flames heroically until after midnight when the flames were successfully extinguished.
Aside from significant property damage, likely beyond repair, there were Boruch Hashem no injuries reported.
