One Person Killed in Bat Yam Shooting

United Hatzalah volunteer EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene of a shooting in Bat Yam. The volunteers found a person critically injured on the Ben Gurion Promenade.

Shimon Abergel a volunteer EMT with the organization reported: “When I arrived at the scene of the shooting I found a man who was unconscious, without a pulse and was not breathing after he had been shot. With the help of other volunteer EMTs from the ambucycle unit, we began CPR on the patient. Police gathered in force around the area and are conducting a thorough investigation.”

Update 2:53 pm: The person was declared dead on scene after an elongated attempt at performing CPR. He was 27 years old.

police say it was likely criminal and possibly gang related and not a terror attack.
