Immediately after the attack, an IDF armor unit destroyed a Hamas border position facing Israel. Later on today sporadic fighting erupted between IDF units and Hamas forces. The IDF responded with tank and artillery fire. In the evening the IAF carried out several bombings against Hamas targets. The last one was shortly after 9 pm Israel time.
