Bought for $6,000, Sold for $35,000: Inside a Rare Antique Auction

What did a page bought for $6,000 sell for at auction? $35,000.

At a private auction preview in Monsey, 95 rare items were set out to see up close. It’s the first of three previews, with Lakewood and Boro Park still to come.

A letter from the Chofetz Chaim, a page the Chasam Sofer wrote covering four parshiyos, letters from the Shinever Rov and Reb Meir Arik, a Toras Chaim manuscript from the Bialystok library, and a letter to the Satmar Rov.

Plus why prices went up so much, how you can start collecting with a few hundred dollars, and a Belzer shtiebel story to end it off.
