IDF Spokesperson Clarifies Cause of Rafah Fire Linked to Secondary Explosion
Rafah Strike Unfolded With RAdm. Daniel Hagari
The IDF reported that the fire in Rafah, which killed several Palestinians sheltering there, was likely caused by a secondary explosion from a Hamas weapons cache. Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF Spokesperson, clarified that the fire resulted from unforeseen circumstances following an Israeli strike targeting senior Hamas officials near a “closed structure” away from the tent camp. Hagari emphasized that the munitions used were too small to cause such a large fire. Despite efforts to minimize civilian casualties, the unexpected fire tragically led to significant loss of life. The incident is under investigation.
