We’re 2 Months Into the School Year, & Kids Are Still Home With No School Placement — What Can We Do?

We sat down with R Yoni Morgenstern to discuss one of the hottest topics in our community — Mosdos in Lakewood (and really in every Heimish area). R’ Yoni brings out powerful points and real awareness — that while it’s extremely painful when even one child is still sitting at home without a school, at the same time it’s important to understand our existing mosdos are struggling with overcrowded classrooms, overworked teachers, and they are also struggling financially and operationally.

Because of this, a Vaad — made up of Rabbanim and Askunim — has quietly formed to try to help every single child find proper school placement. They are now working on:
– Raising the needed funds
– Adding parallel classes
– Even opening new schools when necessary and repairing struggling existing schools with proper resources

This is real, serious work — and they are looking for capable people who can join and help in any way needed.
